EMERGENCY REPAIR CHECK ACCEPTANCE
POLICY:
Personal checks for up to $350 for AAA New York members ($250 for affiliated members) will be accepted by AAA stations providing emergency services or repairs.
The name on the check must match the name on the membership card and the member's driver's license. A valid membership card must be presented at the time of payment.
If the member wants to pay using a business check, the member's name must appear on the check i.e. John Smith wants to pay using a check from "The John Smith Construction Company". If the member's name does not appear on the check it cannot be used as payment.
PROCEDURE:
Verify that the member has a valid membership.
Make sure the name on the membership matches the name on the check and the driver's license.
AAA will guarantee the check to the station provided the station has verified the above information and has completed the proper form.

The limit for ACNY (club 097) members is $350.
The limit for affiliated (non-ACNY) members is $250.
What if the repair cost is more than the check acceptance limit?
The member must pay for the amount over the limit with whatever form of payment the individual station will accept. It is up to the station to decide what form of payment they will accept.
Can a member pay using someone else's check?
Only if the person whose name is on the check has a valid membership. The name on the check must match the name on a valid membership.
Can a member who owns a business use one of his business checks?
Only if the member's name appears on the check. If the member's name is John Smith and the name his business is "The John Smith Agency" the check can be used. If the name of the member's business is "The Rainbow Corporation" and the member's name does not appear, permanently printed, on the check it cannot be accepted.
