Taxi Cabs and Limousines

POLICY:

Vehicles with TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission) plates are not covered by AAA.

The ACNY does not cover any service for any limousine regardless of whether the limo has TLC plates or not. If a member owns a limo for their own personal use, it is not covered under AAA for any services.

PROCEDURE:

Determine what type of plates the vehicle has.

If the vehicle has TLC plates advise member of policy.

If a member calls to get service on a limo, advise the member that we can only place a call on a commercial basis.

The member must pay the station whatever their standard commercial rates are.

Offer to place a commercial call or give the member the name and phone number of the local AAA station so member can arrange commercial service directly with the station.

Make sure you make the call a cash call and document that the member was advised service will only be provided at the station’s commercial rates.
