Winching

POLICY:

AAA covers winching a vehicle if it can be safely reached from a normally traveled road or established thoroughfare using normal service equipment.

Basic members must pay for any additional trucks, personnel or special equipment needed.

There is no limit to the amount of time for the 1st truck. If the station spends much time on location, the station should submit a bill to his field rep.

Plus members are entitled to the services of a second truck and operator for up to 1 hour at the scene. The additional cost for the second truck and operator in excess of 1 hour and or any special equipment is the member’s responsibility and must be paid at the time of service.

Special equipment, if needed, is not covered by AAA.

PROCEDURE:

·         Determine that member is on a regularly traveled road.

·         If member is on a regularly traveled road and can be safely reached enter call with T8 trouble code. Advise member of coverage based on membership type. Type details of problem in comments.

Example:  member stuck in ditch.

If member is not on a regularly traveled road advise member of policy. Enter cash call with T8 trouble code. Advise member that service must be paid for at the time it is rendered.

Do not quote any rates to members. Rates depend on the amount of time and equipment needed to service the member.
